Privacy Statement
As an incorporated association, PESA is required to maintain a register of members and their contact details. Members provide this information when they join the society, and may login to the website to update their contact information. These contact details will be used as the mailing address for the society’s journal, to inform members of society news and events, and to send membership renewal reminders. Details of members whose membership has lapsed will be retained to allow informing past members of alumni events and/or provide information of conferences and important developments that might entice past members to renew their membership. The information is not used for any other purpose. Past members can request the deletion of all personal details by contacting the PESA secretary. As per the Associations Incorporation Act 1987 (Section 27), the register is available for inspection by members.
Security
PESA does not retain credit card information. All transactions are handled through the payment gateway Stripe (https://stripe.com/au). Stripe protects personal information (at a minumum) to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards. To enable Stripe to provide secure payment facilities it will acquire information through the PESA hosted payments page which may include the Cardholder's name, credit card number (with the expiry date) and billing address. Stripe uses the information to obtain authorization of the transaction from the Issuing bank of the credit card and the Merchant's bank and to process the payment. Some details from the transaction (such as name, email and billing address) may be made available to the Merchant or Acquirer through Stripe web based transactions management system, which allows Merchants to track transactions and process refunds.
- Your complete credit card number cannot be viewed by PESA or any outside party.
- All transaction data is encrypted for storage within Stripe's bank-grade data centre, further protecting your credit card data.
